Hypertext is an important means of allowing navigation through networks of verbal information. A word acts as an entry point to a specific destination.
HyperCard has made charting and navigation through graphic networks easy. However, text would seem to require graphic representation to become nodes, and so loses ease of editing.
In trying to manage information that is continually being updated, there is a clear need for keeping text both in text fields (for text editing) and linked. That is, having the HyperCard button attached to a text word. That is, hypertext.
HyperCard does have this capacity, by having its script (HyperTalk) use the Mac's copy and paste abilities. This is a demo of such a use.
